Jam sessions are held every Thursday evening from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Admission is free for musicians, singers and spectators. This is a great opportunity to observe local musicians interacting, harmonizing, and picking together. On Friday nights, Lays hosts a live bluegrass band from 7 – 10 pm. Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children 6 to 12 years of age. Children under 6 are admitted free.
Yes! The Crooked Road Cafe is on site serving up hot dogs and hamburgers every Friday night. An Appalachian favorite – soup beans and cornbread – is often on the menu, as well. On Thursday nights, the Café offers only basic concession items such as drinks, popcorn, and candy.
A variety of classes are scheduled throughout the year. While pottery and stained glass classes are ongoing all year long, other classes (including quilting, basket weaving, and jewelry making) are offered intermittently throughout the year.
